Case: Movomech
A web-based quotation system used by salespeople all over the world.
This example is a customer case describing a configurator implemented at Movomech AB.
The system is built with RuleDesigner Configurator. It is called EConfig, runs in the browser and is easily reached via Movomech's website. Users must log in; only those granted access can use the system.

Web-based quotation system — CPQ
The system can be described as a CPQ system, which stands for Configure, Price, Quote. That is, it is used to configure, price and quote.
The user can configure different products with step-by-step guidance. Visual feedback is available in both 2D and 3D.
In the final step a quotation can be created. Quotation documents such as a 2D drawing and a 3D STEP file are then generated automatically and emailed to the user.
If a quotation later becomes an order, the article and order can be sent into the ERP system Pyramid.
Guided configuration
Products are configured via a step-by-step guide, where rules govern which product properties can be selected.
The configurator finally creates a BOM list with the articles generated by the user's choices. That list can then be inserted into the quotation document that is created.
Customised quotation document
For every configuration a unique and well-designed quotation document is created, containing product images, the selected detailed product properties and the BOM list.
CAD automation
Along with the quotation, CAD documentation is created in the form of 2D drawings and 3D files (STEP).
This is done through automated CAD with both DynaMaker and Autodesk Inventor. It means unique products can be created at every configuration.
