Monitor ERP Integration

Automation against the ERP system, live via Monitor's API.

Several of our customers use Monitor ERP as their business system, and we have then helped with integrations of various kinds.

Monitor ERP G5 has an API that can be used for these integrations and update data in Monitor live. With RuleDesigner Configurator we can easily build custom processes to help with automation against Monitor ERP.

Integration in practice — a sheet-metal model in Solid Edge signs in to Monitor, exports with validation of CAD properties, and lands as a finished manufacturing preparation in Monitor ERP.

Sometimes there is a need to update a list of articles in the same run, where Monitor's built-in update functions are not enough.

Articles can be exported from Monitor to Excel, and we can create a program that goes through the articles and performs a number of simultaneous updates. For example:

Step to the next revision
Add a revision date
Link a document
Add a comment to the revision

Create a configured quotation or order

Production rules in Monitor's configurator

Rules for which operations are to be performed
Rules for included material, e.g. calculated quantities

Sales rules in an external configurator

Presentation rules for product properties, images, video, product sheets
Options that do not affect production, service agreements etc
Pricing rules

There are cases where an external configurator is used in combination with Monitor's configurator. The product rule base can then be split between the two systems.

In this case no new article preparation is created in Monitor for each quotation or order. Instead a configuration is created in Monitor, where the choices from the external configurator need to be matched against the choices in Monitor's configurator.

Create new article preparations

In some cases new top-level articles need to be created in Monitor for every new product variant assembled in an external configurator.

The integration is then about creating an article preparation defining which included articles the top-level article is composed of, and which operations are to be performed. Operation times and material quantities may need to be calculated.
